The rainy season has never been my favored season in Japan. In fact, the worst and dreaded season of all.
Having had lived in Los Angeles for long, the climate was indeed pleasant all year round despite the smog. Unaccustomed to live in high humidity (70 ~ 80 percent), I was experiencing a gradual comeback of my “atopic dermatitis” which I had but on and off since childhood, the summer humidity and heat triggered it’s decline.
The stay home period during the covid-19 instigated my unwillingness to see my regular dermatologist for my regular prescription medicine, to realize that over the years it has become a mental habit, rather than seeing actual efficacy.
So I took the courage to not go! and attempt to switch my medication from western pharmaceutical drugs to Chinese herbal medicine.
Chinese herbology is far natural and safer to the human body than western medication but is (generally) also known for the a slower process of effectiveness. In essence, it is like a total reform of your entire body system. It did take some courage to switch my medication but after 5 weeks, I am starting to feel the effect, to a path of recovery.
As I take these Chinese herbal medication, my curiosity arouse to explore the actual natural herb ingredients contained in each medicine bag. the post also for my own medical records.
